After high school, I was on a path which had no clear direction. For about a year I attended the University of Southern Colorado, then transfered to Pueblo Community College. In 2001, I received an Associates of Arts Degree in Dental Assisting. Prior to graduation in 2001 my heart was telling me to change my path and go to school for what I had originally had set out to do, TEACH! I returned to USC (Colorado State University of Pueblo) and began pursuing my dream. In 2002, I began working as a mentor for the HOSTS Program (Helping One Student to Succeed) at Goodnight. In 2006, I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Although not my first year at Goodnight it is however my 2nd year teaching 3rd grade. I will be graduating from Colorado State University of Pueblo with my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology in May 2009. I married Dr. Matt Thielbar, South High Class of '98 (a Pharmacist at Parkview Hospital) on June 18, 2005. We have two Beagles, Shelby and Bailey, they do a great job of keeping us busy. We are expecting our first child September 9, 2009.

After graduation I shipped off to boot camp in San Diego with the US Marines. Worked my way up and down the chain of command (haha) and got married in July of 02. I then shipped to Kuwait in January of 03, crossed the border into IRAQ on March 18th as a ground communications tech with Tango5/11 (an artillery battery), made our way to Baghdad, then got assigned to Task Force Tripoli where we made our way into Tikrit to find members of the "royal family." We were replaced by the army and were aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) in June, bound for San Diego. We made two stops in Australia and one at Pearl Harbor. I did one more year in California then moved my wife and two step-kids and our newborn back home. I got a job at a temp agency for a few weeks, then began working as a machinist at VAE Nortrak until Oct of 08. I then began working for DIRECTV as a satellite technician and am a lot happier now.

Following graduation, I attended the University of Denver where I graduated with a BS and MAcc (Bachelors and Masters) in Accounting with an emphasis in Finance in 2004. I began my professional career with KPMG in their assurance practice. I left public accounting and I am now an analyst for long/short hedge fund focusing on small- and micro-cap equities. Shortly before graduating college, I met my wonderful husband, Mark Freed. Mark and I were married at the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek on June 25, 2006. We both live and work in Cherry Creek as well. Mark is Vice President – Business Development and Investor Relations for High Sierra Energy, LP, a diversified midstream energy company. Mark and I have no plans for kids anytime soon, but we do have a baby ocicat kitten which takes up a lot of our time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the reunion because we will be vacationing in Europe. Hope everyone has a great time!

I left Pueblo for basic training 2 weeks after graduation and I have been active duty Air Force for almost 10 years now. Currently I am the Non Commissioned Officer in charge (NCOIC) of enlisted promotions for Hill AFB. My job has taken me around the world and given me the opportunity to see more places than I can list here. I graduated from Park University with an AA in Human Resources and I am pursing my bachelors. I met my husband in 2005 he is also active duty Air Force and is a Production Super for Avionics on the F-16. I have a beautiful 5 year old step daughter, Gustava (Gussie). Daniel and I are planning to have more children someday, but duty calls and Daniel is on tap for a second trip to Iraq. In my spare time, my biggest hobby is belly dance. Several weeks after we graduated, I decided that it was a good time to get away from Pueblo and moved to Huntington Beach, California. I spent my first year there attending Orange Coast Community College and I finished college at California State University Long Beach, where I got my Bachelor's Degree in English Education and Speech Communication. After graduating, I became a Language Arts teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District. It was an eye opening experience! After being in California for seven years, I decided to start looking into moving back to Colorado. I taught Language Arts at Discovery Canyon Campus in Colorado Springs and then moved to Roncalli in Pueblo while completing my Master's Degree in Reading. I am now teaching Language Arts at Corwin International Magnet School and recently married Angelo Masciotra (South, '97). When I'm not teaching, I'm chasing my dog, Jake, down the street and working on my handmade card and scrapbook collection.

After graduating I went off to Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego, getting stationed in Naples, Italy or the first 2 years doing anti-terrorism operations. Then I went to Hawaii or 2 years as a Squad Leader for an infantry platoon. We deployed to Japan, Australia, and did some security on Merchant Marine vessals that were preparing for the war in Iraq. I left the infantry to go home to Pueblo and be with my little girl Jeseca for 3 years as a Marine Corps recruiter. While on recruiting duty I added 2 more adorable kids to my family list. After completing that I headed back out to Hawaii to be a Platoon Sergeant for an infantry platoon and deployed to Iraq. While there I was promoted and moved to Weapons Company to be the Platoon Sergeant for the Anti-Armor platoon. Returning from Iraq I met my loving wife Tracy, and promised to not let her get away. When she completed her schooling for nursing she moved out to Hawaii where we have a house and now a little puppy. I would like to make it to the reunion but since there are very few flights from Fallujah, I will be unable to attend. I ended up getting my BA in business management over the first 5 years in the Marine Corps. Still trying to figure out where to go next in life, but enjoying every minute of it.

I attended The University of Colorado at Boulder. Graduated in 2003 from the Journalism School with a degree in Broadcast Production/Management. I did a few internships & worked freelance for a number of events in the greater Denver area. I was a proud member of the CU Golden Buffalo Marching Band drumline. After graduation I took a couple jobs, one with a local production company in Denver and the other was for a local show ESPN was doing in Denver. After a few months of that and freelancing sports events I moved onto a full time position with DISH Network in their Interactive Television department. I've been with DISH for 5 years now in the same department. The highlight of my work career thus far has been working on a live TV set with the likes of Duane 'Dog' Chapman, Mark Cuban, Sabrina Le Beauf, Jamie Little, Susie Essman & Brian Engblom. I graduated as the Outstanding Marketing Graduate of 2003 in the last graduating class from the University of Southern Colorado. My first job out of college was with Saturn of Colorado Springs as their Customer Relations Coordinator. This position put me in connection with an international Company, Auto University Inc., and I started working for them as their Public Relations Manager/Executive Assistant. I traveled to 22 states in one year with Auto University and was able to experience a very corporate world. Living out of a suitcase can take a toll on you so in 2004 I switched to a more stable company, Pulte Homes. I was with Pulte Homes as their Customer Relations/Construction Coordinator until I left in the fall of 2008 to move to Oklahoma to be with my husband, Joseph Okerlund (South High Class of ’98). After graduation, I spent a year at UNC in Greeley then moved to CU Boulder to study engineering. While in school, I joined an outdoor club and on Thanksgiving Day 2001 while on a large group canyoneering trip in Utah's Escalante State Park I met my husband-to-be Nahum. Nahum was a research professor at CU at the time so we enjoyed the outdoor Boulder lifestyle together for several years. I got my BS in Dec 2003 and MS in Dec 2005 in Civil Engineering then a job at a great firm in downtown Boulder. Nahum and I got married Aug 5, 2007 and with that came responsibility for him. He accepted a tenure-track position at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA in the Spring of 2007 and we moved to Appalachia in January of 2008. We’ve made some good friends which make the area survivable but it’s been a very hard move for both of us. Luckily, our lives brightened considerably when we welcomed our first daughter Shayna Melinda on Feb 27, 2009. We both love the family life and full-time motherhood is great. I go back to work part-time June 15th because I like being an engineer too. We’ll make our 3rd trip to Israel at the end of the year to introduce Shayna to Nahum’s family. I’m giving myself till then to make the tough decision of being a stay-at-home mom or not.

After high school I promptly joined the United States Navy. I completed boot camp in Great Lakes, IL. I enjoyed my training in Pensacola, FL before being permanently stationed in San Diego. While on active duty was in a major injury accident. I fell 75 feet from a bridge and broke my pelvis, wrist, and every bone in my face, rest assured classmates, that after major facial reconstruction, my looks have improved. I met my wife of seven years in San Diego, and once I was medically retired from the Navy we moved back home to CO. Since retirement from my first career, I have begun another in government working for the Social Security Administration. My wife and I enjoy our two daughters, three cats, and one dog. We have a house in Colorado Springs, and San Diego as well as 48 acres just west of Trinidad, CO. We enjoy camping and boating in the summer, and snowboarding and four wheeling in the winter.

I worked as marketing and promotions director for Clear Channel Radio for two years and then as marketing/sales director for the Pueblo Convention Center for two years. Following graduation I attended the Colorado School of Mines, graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering with high honors in 2003. After completing my degree I joined the smallest of the nation’s seven uniformed services, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Corps of Commissioned Officers—we may be the smallest, but we have the longest name—and shipped off to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY for my Basic Officer Training Class. I was subsequently assigned to the NOAA Ship Rainier as a junior officer, based out of Seattle, WA and conducting hydrographic survey work in Alaska supporting NOAA’s nautical charting mission. For the past three years I have been assigned to the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) Engineering Development Division, where I have been involved in the design and development of many mooring and instrumentation systems, including the Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis (DART) buoys and the Tropical Atmosphere and Ocean (TAO) buoys. During this time I met my beautiful wife, Jennica, who I married in Pueblo on May 16, 2008. We currently own a home in Bothell, WA near Seattle, where Jennica works as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon.com. I will soon be returning to sea as the Field Operations Officer aboard the NOAA Ship Rainier and we have no plans for children until I complete this sea assignment in two years.

After graduating I moved to Denver where I went to college MSCD for two years and then transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle. After graduating with a BS in cell, molecular, and developmental biology I moved to Boston, MA where I worked as a scientist with folks from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard, and The Dana Farber Institute (SPORE in breast cancer research). Realizing that Boston wasn't my cup of tea I headed west to Seattle where I ended up working with a marine ecology lab looking into eel grass/oyster relationships in Willapa Bay, WA. Since then I have decided to pursue a degree in medicine and am currently finishing up with my first year in medical school. Upon graduating High School, I moved to Boulder and began my studies. I graduated CU with a double major in Russian and German Studies. After finding out that the CIA would not take me in (because of my car wreck in 1999 that broke my neck) I switched outlooks and began my career as a restaurant manager. After living in Kansas City for five years, I can finally call it home. I graduated from Saint Mary College with B.A.s in Pastoral Ministry and Theology and minors in acting and voice. My wife Jean graduated from the same school, now University of Saint Mary, in 2004 with degrees in Mathematics and Secondary Education. We both graduated from our alma mater with MBAs in 2007.
I love my two jobs: husband and youth minister for a Catholic church with 1500 teens. I still enjoy being outside (working on my tan), and as often as I can, I go running for 5-7 miles. Although I haven't been in any plays or operas since college, my voice is a blessing I share with others on their special occasions (weddings, confirmations, etc.). Jean and I have been married for 5 amazing years, and our favorite TV show (and Wii game) is Dancing with the Stars. Since Jean isn't as coordinated on the dance floor as she is on the soccer field, I teach her all the moves! Of course we love long walks on the beach (though we are about as far away from one as possible!) and white-water rafting down the cold Arkansas River when we visit Colorado.
